Why I Co-Founded Ignite Your Truth
Our ability to be honest with one another about all we’d been through and what we desired to do in our futures created a bond that was so powerful we knew … we had to share this with other women.
Have you ever had a deep passion and desire to do something creative and inspirational? Has there ever been a time in your life when you’ve wondered … what if I could just follow my dream? For most of my life, I have. Yet, every time I had the courage to move forward in my writing and speaking I always felt that people thought I was weird. I felt alone. I wondered, “What is wrong with me that I am so completely different from everyone else?” Yet, the pull in my heart to stay true to the desires within in my writing and my outreach only became stronger and would not let me give up.
I followed those dreams and completed my second novel, built my website, and began reaching out without fear. I decided I would rather pursue my passions, even if that meant I’d do it alone, than to live a life always wondering what if. I needed to stay true to myself … and along the way, I discovered more about who I was than ever before. It required me to become vulnerable, and as I put myself out there more and more, it also meant that I was opening myself up to more opportunity to meet other women with similar stories. And before I knew it, powerful connections were made. And I was getting stronger.
Jen Kelchner was one of the women I met, along the way, and within days I knew; this was my soul sister. I was so grateful for her authenticity and her passion, because it validated my own. It felt so freeing to meet another woman who shared my own struggles, questions, passions, and who had the beautiful gift of ministry to my heart. She, without question, began nurturing parts of me that had felt alone for most of my life – and allowed me to bring my own talents and gifts to our relationship. Our ability to be honest with one another about all we’d been through and what we desired to do in our futures created a bond that was so powerful we knew … we had to share this with other women.
Ignite Your Truth, for me, began the moment I met Jen who had the audacity to be real. It was so refreshing and inspiring that it literally changed my momentum in doing what I know I was always meant to do. Jen helped me to ignite my own truth, to believe in myself, and to continue to grow into the true and real woman I am. Our friendship is real, relevant, and radical … and it became absolutely clear to me that this journey was something I had to share with all of you. Authentic relationships do exist. I hope you stick around and join us so that you too can become empowered, authentic, and that your life is ignited by the beautiful truth of you.
